Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, June 10

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, June 10, 2021:

A new regime of less humid, but still mild air will settle into the region today.

High pressure over Canada took control of our weather overnight with a northeasterly flow of dry air. Dewpoints will spend today in the 50s or even 40s, which will be much more comfortable than the soupy 70-degree dewpoints of the last several days.

With the high pressure in control and dry air abounding, skies will be mostly sunny today. Any clouds that flit through the area will be thin, wispy cirrus clouds. No rain will fall.

The gentle northeast breeze will persist today at around 5 mph. At times, the wind may turn more easterly.

Despite the new air mass, temperatures will be similar to yesterday with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.

Skies will remain mostly clear this evening with a few clouds mixing in after midnight. Temperatures will drop to the low 60s this evening and dip into the upper 50s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Friday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a few scattered showers. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. A period of rain and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Monday: Some scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
