Homer Loses Nailbiter to Camden in Sectional Finals

The #4 seeded Homer Trojans lost a close game against #2 seed Camden in the Section III Class B-1 Sectional Finals on Saturday (June 12th). The Trojans lost with a score of 9-11.

Both teams’ offenses fired from all cylinders with Homer scoring 7 runs and Camden scoring 9 runs in the first two innings of the game. 

Camden picked up a couple of runs during the bottom of the fifth to extend their lead, 7-11. 

Being down by 4 runs in the sixth, Homer tried to make a comeback by making it a 2 run game. However, Camden's defense prevented any additional scores by the Trojans in the final inning to come out with the win. 

Homer’s offense was led by Joey Case (2 runs & 3 RBI’s), Jacob Atkins (2 runs), Jed Brazo (2 runs), Zander Johnson (4 RBI’s), Michael Grant (1 run & 1 RBI), Richard Lambert (1 run), and Jon Barnes (1 run). 

Homer pitcher Zander Johnson threw 8 strikeouts in the game, while fellow pitcher Joey Case threw 1 strikeout.
