Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, June 17

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, June 17, 2021:

High pressure will retain control of our weather today, only with lighter winds and warmer temperatures than yesterday.

Sunshine will again be plentiful, though a few patches of thin clouds may filter the sun slightly from time to time. This is especially possible during the afternoon hours.

None of these clouds will produce any rainfall and they should do little to block out the sun.

Winds will be from the northwest at 5-10 mph much of the day but will decrease in speed and turn more westerly late in the afternoon. By evening, the wind will be coming in from the south.

The core of the cool air will be shifting away, allow temperatures to get back to around 70 degrees this afternoon. Evening temperatures will drop into the 50s and should stay there overnight.

Skies this evening will remain mostly clear with some occasional thin clouds. After midnight, the clouds will become more numerous and start to thicken.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Friday: Increasing clouds. Afternoon showers and perhaps some thunderstorms. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms possible. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Monday: Afternoon showers and storms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
