Savannah Hempstead was named the new Cortland County Clerk of the Legislature at a special county legislature meeting on Wednesday.
Hempstead previously held the position of deputy clerk of the legislature and was briefly the interim head clerk following Eric Mulvihill’s departure from the position on June 1.
According to the minutes from Wednesday’s meeting, Hempstead’s promotion is “effective immediately.” Her annual salary is set at $57,632.
