Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, June 29

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, June 29, 2021:

Warm and muggy conditions will continue, though day will not get quite as hot as the past two days thanks to more scattered afternoon showers and storms.

Skies will be sunny this morning mixed with the occasional batch of passing clouds. Later in the morning, fair weather cumulus clouds will start to bubble up.

These clouds will continue to grow during the early afternoon, and a few scattered showers and storms will start to pop up.

More showers and storms will continue to develop through the afternoon, but the activity will primarily remain scattered. Some areas will probably not see rain.

High temperatures this afternoon will top out in the mid to upper 80s. The longer the rain holds off, the warmer it will get.

Winds today will primarily be from the west at around 5 mph. Some variation in wind direction is expected, especially near the showers.

The showers and storms will quickly dissipate this evening as the daytime heating is lost. Most of the evening and overnight will be partly cloudy to mostly clear.
