Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, July 1

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, July 1, 2021:

A cold front moved through the area last night but did not make it too far to the south before it stalled out.

Some showers will be possible this morning as a wave of energy moves along the front. The steadiest, heaviest rain should mostly stay south, though.

Then, this afternoon, a few more scattered showers will pop up from time to time. As a whole, it should not be too rainy during the afternoon, but brief showers will be possible at any time.

Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the day, but a few glimpses of sunshine will be possible from time to time.

Winds will be nearly calm today with speeds under 5 mph. The wind direction will vary between westerly, northwesterly, and northerly.

With the clouds, showers, and lack of warming winds, highs will struggle to reach the mid 70s this afternoon.

A few more showers will be possible tonight with temperatures backing into the 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Friday: Shower possible throughout the day. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs around 70.

Saturday: Scattered showers possible. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs around 70.
