The 4th of July holiday will see an improvement in the weather compared to the last few days.

For starters, sunshine will return to the area throughout the day. Clouds will mix in most of the time, but it will not be as overcast.

Precipitation will be very limited, with just a few stray pop-up showers in the afternoon. A couple rumbles of thunder will be possible as well. The majority of the region should stay dry, though.

Winds will remain out of the north at around 5 mph. Top gusts on the day will be near 20 mph.

Temperatures will start to make a rebound as well. Afternoon highs should be comfortable, reaching the mid 70s with dewpoints sticking to the 50s.

Tonight, any lingering showers will quickly dissipate, and skies will turn mostly clear. Temperatures will quickly fall through the 60s early in the evening, ending up in the 50s before midnight.
