Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, July 6, 2021:
A small area of disturbed weather will pass through the area today with a couple showers and storms.
The morning hours should be mostly dry with a mix of sun and clouds. The disturbance will then move through during the early afternoon hours.
Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will begin to pop-up around the region. By the mid-afternoon, most of the activity should be heading south of the region. Not everyone will see rain today.
None of the storms today should be particularly strong since they will be just getting started over our region. Some lightning and brief downpours will be the primary threats.
Outside of the storms, winds will be on the blustery side. Coming from the west with speeds 10-15 mph, the wind may gust as high as 35 mph at times.
Temperatures will not be as warm as yesterday, but still plenty mild. Look for highs in the low and mid 80. It will be muggier than yesterday though, with dewpoints hovering around 70 degrees.
Skies will be partly cloudy tonight with temperatures falling back into the mid 60s.
