Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, July 11, 2021:

Unsettled weather will move back into the region today as a warm front lifts through the region.

Clouds will thicken through the morning hours. Some filtered sunshine will be possible, especially early on. The rest of the day should be overcast.

Rain showers will develop for the afternoon, spreading into the area from the southwest. Some of the rain may come down on the hard side later in the afternoon with a few rumbles of thunder.

The rain will continue into the evening before tapering off overnight as the warm front lifts north. Localized amounts over an inch are possible and could lead to some small scale flooding.

Winds will be from the southeast and east prior to the passage of the warm front tonight. Wind speeds will be closer to 10 mph much of the day. Top gusts will reach 20-25 mph.

Temperatures may have a hard time rising today. Midday highs may struggle to get much beyond 70 degrees. With the afternoon rain, temperatures will probably settle in the upper 60s.

Tonight, temperatures will remain steady in the mid 60s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower, mostly in the morning. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
