Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, July 16, 2021:

Another slow moving frontal boundary will settle into the region today with clouds and a few showers.

This front is still weak and ill-defined but will be most evident near the NY-PA state line. This will place Cortland County on the cooler side of the front.

As such, the chances for thunderstorms are not particularly high today. Still, a few stray showers will be possible from time to time.

Clouds will be plentiful, though some breaks of sunshine will be possible as well.

Winds will be strongest this morning, coming in from the northwest at close to 10 mph at times. A gradual weakening of the winds will take place this afternoon as the direction shifts to the north, then northeast.

High temperatures will cooler than yesterday, topping out in the upper 70s.

There is little change in the forecast tonight, with clouds and a few stray showers remaining. Temperatures will fall back into the mid and upper 60s overnight.

Monday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Tuesday: Sun early, giving way to some afternoon thunderstorms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
