Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, July 18, 2021:
Low pressure will slowly meander to the east today, keeping our region in the cool, wrap-around showers on its backside.
On and off rain showers will be common throughout the morning and probably deep into the afternoon. The rain will not be heavy, flood inducing rains, despite a few heavier showers.
Thunderstorms and severe weather will not be an issue today.
Late in the day, the rain may finally push to the east and allow a little sun to poke out before it sets. Skies will gradually turn partly cloudy or even mostly clear overnight.
With the low just to our east, a blustery northwest wind will blow. Wind speeds will be 10-15 mph and top gusts around 30 mph.
Between the northwest winds and the persistent clouds and showers, temperatures will have a hard time rising today. Look for highs only in the upper 60s.
