Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, July 23, 2021:
High pressure will continue to keep control of our weather, though the jet stream will also be overhead.
The presence of the jet stream aloft will some clouds in the sky and perhaps a few isolated showers in the area. Any showers that manage to develop will do so during the afternoon and would be light and brief.
Most, if not all of the county will remain dry, though. The sun will be out between the clouds as well. When the sun shines, it will be in full force with little to no wildfire smoke overhead.
Winds will be from the northwest at near or just over 5 mph. Top gusts will reach around 20 mph.
Temperatures will remain in the same range as the last couple days with highs mostly in the low 70s. Dewpoints will remain depressed in the 50s.
Skies will gradually clear tonight and some patchy fog will develop in the favored areas after midnight. Nighttime temperatures will drop into the mid or maybe low 50s.

Tuesday: Sun and a few clouds. Perhaps an afternoon shower. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
