A classical summer day is ahead for Cortland County to close off the weekend.

Some rain showers associated with a frontal system have been moving through overnight and will linger a bit this morning. Most areas will lose the rain a bit after sunrise, though a few stray showers may persist to the mid-morning.

Skies will gradually turn sunnier thereafter with a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon. A stray shower or storm cannot be totally ruled out, but the chances for a dry afternoon are much higher.

Temperatures will be warm with afternoon highs in the low 80s. Dewpoints will be a bit higher than in recent days, with mid and upper 60s into the afternoon.

Winds this morning will be from the south but will turn to the west, then northwest, for the afternoon. The strongest winds will be during the afternoon with speeds around 10 mph and gusts to 25 mph.

Skies will turn mostly clear tonight with overnight temperatures falling through the 60s.
