The overly active month of July will close out on a quiet note today as high pressure, weakening though it is, keeps control of the region.
Fair weather clouds will develop quickly this morning as temperatures being to rise from a chilly start. Sunshine will mix with these clouds throughout the morning and afternoon.
No rain is expected, however, with dry conditions throughout the daytime hours.
A weather system will begin to approach from the west tonight, but rain should again stay out of the area until perhaps after midnight. Then, a few stray showers will be possible, but most areas will stay dry.
Winds will be lighter today but still primarily from the northwest. Speeds will be near or just over 5 mph and top gusts will reach about 20 mph.
Temperatures will remain cool though with highs struggling, and in some cases failing to reach 70 degrees.
The wind will turn to the east tonight and clouds will gradually increase. Temperatures during the night will stick to the low and mid 50s.
