The Osco Robinson American Legion Post 617 in Marathon, also known as the Auxiliary Sixth District, held an event on Saturday in the village in honor of military veterans.
Organized by Marathon American Legion president Janet Elston, the purpose of the event was to thank veterans for their service in the Korean War, the Vietnam War and service in non-combat years.
The highlight of Saturday’s event was a parade, where village mayor Bill McGovern, residents and veterans walked around Marathon for close to an hour. The parade also included two horse-drawn wagons.
