Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, August 13, 2021:

The heat and humidity will last for one final day today before a cold front moves through overnight.

Like the rest of the week, temperatures are off to a warm start and will rise steadily through the morning hours. By the early afternoon, temperatures should be in the mid to upper 80s.

With dewpoints around 70 and the approaching cold front, showers and storms should develop during the afternoon. A couple may be robust with continuous lightning and gusty winds.

The threat for thunderstorms will diminish after dark, but showers will persist through the night, possibly lingering into early Saturday morning.

Winds will be from the southwest at 5-10 mph with a few gusts as high as 25-30 mph. Thunderstorm winds will have the potential to be stronger.

It will remain warm and muggy much of the night with temperatures holding around 70. The front will pass through after midnight, sending temperatures into the mid 60s.
