Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, August 14

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, August 14, 2021:

A new and refreshing air mass will settle into the region today behind a cold front that moved through overnight.

Northwest winds behind the front will blow at around 5 mph this morning, increasing to near 10 mph for the afternoon. Top gusts will reach about 25 mph.

These winds will sweep the heat and humidity away. Dewpoints will fall through the early morning, then spend most of the day around 55 degrees. 

Temperatures, too, will be more comfortable with a high in the mid 70s.

Clouds and a few lingering showers will be possible through the first part of the morning. Sunshine will increase during the late morning and will mix with fair weather clouds throughout the afternoon. No additional rain is expected.

Tonight, skies will turn mostly clear, though fog will likely develop in the usual areas by Sunday morning. Temperatures will quickly fall into the 50s this evening and bottom out in the low to mid 50s overnight.
