Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, August 16

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, August 16, 2021:

An increase in moisture from the south will lead to thickening clouds today and a few showers tonight.

The daytime hours are expected to stay dry. Thin clouds high in the atmosphere will filter the sunshine through the morning. Afternoon fair weather clouds will develop and the clouds higher in the atmosphere will thicken.

That should leave skies with more clouds than sun through the afternoon hours.

The best chance for rain showers will come after midnight as moisture slowly pushes into the region.

A south wind will develop but stay light with speeds near or under 5 mph through the daytime hours. A slight increase to near or just above 5 mph will take place in the evening hours.

Temperatures will top out near 80 degrees as dewpoints creep upward. The dewpoint may get above 60 degrees by the late afternoon and evening hours.

Evening temperatures will drop back into the 60s and stick near 65 degrees through the nighttime hours.
