Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, August 26

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, August 26, 2021:

Hot and humid conditions will continue as the chances for rain inch upward today.

A small disturbance will move into the area late today. This feature will be weak and may struggle to produce much precipitation, even with ample heat and humidity.

Skies will be a summertime mix of sun and clouds throughout the day. Late in the afternoon, a few of those clouds may grow large enough to produce some showers or even a thunderstorm.

Most areas will probably stay dry, with the best chance for one of those stray showers coming after 6 PM.

Winds will be nearly calm today, but what little wind there is will come in from the west. With more clouds than previous days and the lack of a south wind, temperatures will not be quite as hot as yesterday.

Still, highs should make it into the mid 80s with oppressive dewpoints between 70-75 degrees.

Temperatures will be slow to drop tonight and will only make it down to about 70 degrees. Most of the overnight will be quiet with partly cloudy skies, though a stray lingering shower will be possible early on.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Friday: More clouds than sun. Scattered showers and storms possible. Morning lows around 70. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Sunday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
