The McLean Fire Department (of Tompkins County) dispatched to a structure fire on Sweetland Road off of Rt. 13 in the town of Cortlandville earlier this week.

Arriving at the scene at 7:35 p.m. On Monday, the department found a garage fully engulfed in flames, with heat transferring to a nearby house and shed. Firefighters were able to save the house and shed from additional fire damage, and extinguish the garage fire in the process.

No injuries were reported. Contents of the garage fire -- which included an ATV, lawnmower, tractor and more -- disintegrated in the fire.

The source of the fire has yet to be determined.

The Virgil, Dryden and Freeville Fire Departments, along with Dryden Ambulance, assisted on the scene. The Groton Fire Department assisted with water supply at the fill site in McLean.

The McLean Fire Department remained on scene until 11:15 p.m. The department could not be reached for further details on the fire.
