Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, August 29

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, August 29, 2021:

Little has changed in the overall set up to our weather over the last couple days with an ill-defined boundary settled over the region.

Morning cloudiness will gradually erode away, leaving a mix of sun and clouds for the afternoon.

A stray shower or bit of drizzle cannot be ruled out this morning. The midday and first half of the afternoon should remain mostly dry.

Late this afternoon, a few stray showers and storms will pop up. Locally heavy rain and some lightning will be the main threats from whatever manages to develop.

Many areas will probably not see rain today, though.

South winds will blow at around 10 mph throughout the day. Top gusts will be around 25 mph.

High temperatures will be held back by the clouds but should still get to the low 80s this afternoon. Dewpoints will once again be in the mid and upper 60s.

A few showers will be possible this evening and again after midnight. Nighttime temperatures will drop into the upper 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Monday: Showers and storms, mostly during the midday hours. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday: Sunshine early, then increasing thin clouds. Cooler and much less humid. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
