Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, September 6

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, September 6, 2021:

Another front will move through the area today, triggering a few isolated showers to dodge for Labor Day.

As a general rule, today will not be overly rainy, especially compared to yesterday. Many areas will see little to no rain, and those that do get rained on should still have plenty of dry time.

The stray showers that pop-up will be possible at any time but will especially be possibly during the late morning and the mid to late afternoon. 

Outside of the showers, some sunshine will mix in with the clouds. While not a full on sunny day, it should be brighter than yesterday.

Early winds will be from the southwest, but these will quickly turn to the west, then northwest during the morning. 

The wind will also increase with speeds near or just above 10 mph throughout the day. Top gusts will also be on the blustery side, coming in at 30-35 mph.

These winds will bring in cooler air, with afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Skies will clear tonight and the wind will die down, resulting in a quick drop in temperature. Mid 50s will develop shortly after sunset and overnight lows will get close to 50 degrees.

Tuesday: A mix of sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms, especially through the early afternoon. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Friday: Cloudy with a few more showers until some late clearing. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
