Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, September 18, 2021:

A pair of weak cold fronts will move through the area today with just a few scattered showers.

One front is already making its way through early this morning. Most of the scattered showers with this front will depart around sunrise, but a few may linger into the mid morning.

The second front will drop south during the early afternoon. A few more scattered showers will develop, but any rain that falls should be light and brief.

Skies will be rather cloudy through the morning and first part of the afternoon. Some breaks of sunshine will still be possible, though. Sunshine will increase further late in the day.

Northwest winds will set up this morning behind the first front and increase behind the second front. Morning wind speeds will be around 5 mph, with afternoon wind speeds of 5-10 mph.

Temperatures may be able to flirt with 75 degrees during the midday hours. Once the second front rolls through, temperatures will drop to around 70.

Nighttime temperatures will continue to drop and should easily reach the mid 50s by the middle of the night and the low 50s by dawn Sunday.
