Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, September 20

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, September 20, 2021:

High pressure will retain control of our region, though it will be centered further east today off the New England coast.

Precipitation will not fall and clouds will be limited to thin wisps of cirrus cloud, especially in the afternoon. 

Any patchy fog early this morning will quickly burn off by mid-morning. Thin clouds will persist into the nighttime hours, though again areas of patchy fog may develop.

With high pressure to the east, winds will be from the south at 5-10 mph. Top gusts will clock in around 20 mph. The wind will strengthen tonight to around 10 mph.

The southerly flow of air will bump temperatures into the low 70s.

Temperatures will gradually drop back into the 50s this evening and end up in the mid 50s overnight.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Wednesday:  Rather cloudy. Maybe a shower. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Thursday: Increasing chances for rain late in the day, possibly heavy overnight. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Friday: Becoming mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
