Varsity Boys Golf: Cortland vs. Oswego

The Cortland Purple Tigers lost a close match to Oswego on the road with an overall score of 214-195. (Reminder: Lowest score in golf wins).

Varsity Boys Golf: Homer vs. Mexico

The Homer Trojans defeated Mexico on the road with an overall score of 205-255. (Reminder: Lowest score in golf wins).

Varsity Girls Volleyball: Cortland vs. Oswego

The Cortland Purple Tigers lost a tough game against Oswego in four sets on Monday.

With this loss, Cortland now holds a 4-3 overall record. 

Cortland was led by Aliza McCormick (7 aces, 4 kills & 9 digs), Molly Steve (1 ace, 2 kills, 14 assists & 11 digs), Kristin Rowland (20 digs), and Emma Hutchings (4 kills & 12 assists). 

Up next, the Tigers will look to shake this game off as they host Central Square on Thursday (September 30th) at 7:30pm. 

Varsity Boys Soccer: Marathon vs. Moravia

The Marathon Olympians started their week off by shutting out Moravia with a score of 5-0. The Olympians now hold an overall record of 6-1-1. 

Marathon’s  defense didn't let Moravia get a single shot on goal throughout the game. 

Marathon was led offensively by Kaiden Cornell (3 goals), Braeden Morrison (1 goal), Eli Hoyt (1 goal), Ethan Morrison (1 assist), Connor Holland (1 assist), and Brittan Keller (1 assist). 

Up next, the Olympians will host Southern Cayuga for a division rivalry game on Tuesday (September 28th) at 4:30pm. 

Varsity Girls Soccer: Marathon vs. Southern Cayuga

The Lady Olympians are now 8-1 overall.The Marathon Lady Olympians won their sixth straight game with a 7-0 win over Southern Cayuga. 

Marathon’s defense dominated all game, holding Southern Cayuga to zero shots.

Marathon’s offense was led by Anna Hoyt (2 goals & 2 assists), Addison Oram (2 goals & 1 assist), Marissa Allen (1 goal), Delta Barber (1 goal), and Brooke Tillotson (1 goal). 

“It's exciting to see the younger players carry us in the stat sheet on games like these,” said Marathon Head Coach Elizabeth Duncan. “They had all of our assists and 70% of our goals on the day.”

Marathon will look to improve their winning streak on Wednesday (September 29th), as they host Dryden at 4:30pm. 

JV Football: Homer vs. Fowler

The Homer JV Football team improved to a 2-0 record after defeating Fowler 14-12 on Monday. 

According to Homer JV Football Coach George Schneider, the Trojan’s defense led the way, as they “held Fowler to minimal gains and stopped two big drives in the fourth quarter to maintain the lead.”

Homer’s touchdowns were scored by Jack Brady (rushing touchdown) and Isaiah McMahon (receiving touchdown/pass by Maddox Johnson). McMahon also caught a 2-point conversion pass from Johnson after Brady’s touchdown in the first quarter.  

Alex Votra led the Trojans in rushing, with a total of 103 yards on the ground. 

The Trojans will play ITC (Institute of Technology at Central Syracuse) on Wednesday (October 6th) at 6pm on the road.
