Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, September 28

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, September 28, 2021:

A cold front dropping south through the region early this morning will end the one-day warm up we enjoyed yesterday.

Scattered showers will be possible through the morning but will become less numerous by the late morning. The rain should move out completely by noon.

The afternoon will be marked by a gradual increase in sunshine. A few clouds will linger as long as the late afternoon with skies becoming mostly clear by nightfall. 

Winds will be from the north and northwest most of the day. Wind speeds will come in around 10 mph and gusts will be as high as 25 mph.

Cool air will move in on these winds. High temperatures this afternoon will be in the low to perhaps mid 60s. Few, if any places should get beyond 65 degrees.

Temperatures will be quick to fall into the 40s this evening. Overnight lows should end up around 45 degrees, though some locally colder pockets are possible.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower late. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Thursday: More clouds than sun. Maybe a little drizzle, especially early on. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Rather cloudy. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs near 70.
