Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, October 1, 2021:

Another chilly and rather cloudy day is ahead for Cortland County.

Clouds will build this morning and persist through much of the afternoon as winds turn back to the northwest. The clouds will begin to break up late as winds become more westerly.

Winds speeds will be between 5-10 mph with top gusts coming in at 15-20 mph.

No rain is expected outside of perhaps a brief spit of drizzle here or there. 

Temperatures will only be a couple degrees warmer than yesterday with highs in the upper 50s. If the clouds break soon enough this afternoon, a few places could reach 60 degrees.

Tonight, temperatures will quickly fall into the mid 40s beneath mostly clear skies. Only a few passing thin clouds are expected.

The falling temperatures will be halted by the development of a steady southwesterly breeze. Temperatures should hold in the mid 40s and may even come up a degree or two before the sun rises.

Tuesday: Sun, clouds, and a few showers. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
