Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, October 2

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, October 2, 2021:

High pressure and southerly winds will bring much warmer weather into the area today.

Sunshine will be plentiful throughout the day, though batches of thin clouds will mix in at times. These clouds may filter the sunshine at times, but they should not block it out. No rain is expected, either.

Steady southwest winds will blow at 5-10 mph with occasional gusts to 20 mph.

These winds will team up with the sunshine to bring a big increase in temperatures compared to the last couple days. Afternoon highs should reach the mid 70s, but probably will not get beyond 75 degrees.

Tonight, the clouds will increase as a weather system draws closer from the west. It should continue to remain dry, though.

Winds will gradually turn to the due south overnight, but speeds will remain low, around 5 mph.

Still, the winds and clouds will keep temperatures in the low and mid 50s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Sunday: Cloudy with occasional rain showers. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs near 70.

Monday: Showers likely. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Tuesday: Sun, clouds, and a few showers. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Wednesday: Sun, clouds, and a few showers. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs near 70.
