Cortland Weather Outlook: Friday, October 8

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, October 8, 2021:

Today will be similar to yesterday with periods of clouds and some breaks of sun.

First though, morning cloudiness and fog will need to burn off. Once it does, there may be a couple hours of sun before fair weather clouds build in and blanket much of the sky.

Some sun will be in and out of these clouds in the afternoon until they dissipate late. It will not turn clear, though, as thin clouds higher in the atmosphere will also be streaming into the area.

No rain is expected from any of the cloud cover, though.

Winds will be nearly calm once again. South winds will come in at under 5 mph. After sunset, southeast winds will develop and increase to 5-10 mph.

High temperatures will remain above average and will reach the low 70s this afternoon. Evening temperatures will fall to the low 60s with overnight temperatures hovering just under 60.
