Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, October 14

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, October 14, 2021:

Our area will be between weather systems today.

As a result, skies will be mixed. Batches of clouds will move through, alternating with sunnier periods. Some of the clouds may also be thin enough to allow some sun to shine through.

The best chance for thick clouds will be this morning. A few stray showers off Lake Ontario cannot be totally ruled out, either. No other rain is expected today or tonight.

Winds will be light with speeds near or under 5 mph. Westerly breezes this morning will turn to the northwest, then north by the early afternoon. After that, the wind direction will be variable.

It will be another mild day with highs well above average. Look for afternoon temperatures around or just above 70 degrees.

Clouds will gradually increase and thicken tonight with the thickest clouds coming after midnight.

Temperatures will drop to the upper 50s early this evening, then hold steady through the overnight.
