Trojans win 10th straight Home-Cort Jug, game called at halftime due to unforeseen circumstances (photo gallery included)

The Homer Trojans defeated the Cortland Purple Tigers with a score of 34-0 at their annual rivalry Home-Cort Jug game on Friday. The game was called at halftime due to the Tigers losing a couple of players to injury. 

This year’s game was played at Homer High School, as the Trojans also celebrated Homecoming. 

This was Homer’s 10th straight Home-Cort Jug game win, as they now lead the Jug series 27-15-1. 

All of Homer’s touchdowns were scored by Will Dady (5 yard reception pass touchdown from Jake Calabro), Sam Sorenson (72 yard rushing touchdown), Jake Calabro (3 yard rushing touchdown), and David Morse (19 yard rushing touchdown & 43 yard rushing touchdown). 

Morse also ran in for a 2-point conversion, and Dalton Eldridge made 2 extra point kicks. 

With this result, Homer improved to a 5-0 record, while Cortland fell to 0-6.

Up next, the Trojans will play their last game of the regular season in hopes to stay unbeaten against Marcellus on the road at 7pm on Friday (October 22nd); while Cortland travels to take on South Jefferson at 7pm on Friday (October 22nd).
