Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, October 18

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, October 18, 2021:

A raw day is ahead as the core of cold air moves in overhead.

Lake effect rain showers from the overnight will continue on and off throughout the day. The rain become more sporadic for the early and mid afternoon hours before increasing again late.

More lake effect is then expected into at least the first part of tonight.

Throughout the day, sunshine will be limited to a few brief glimpses between lake effect showers. For the most part, it will just be cloudy though.

Northwest winds will blow at speeds of 10-15 mph. Top gusts will reach about 30 mph, primarily from the late morning through the mid afternoon.

The clouds, showers, wind, and cold air dome overhead will make it even cooler today than yesterday. Few if any places in Cortland County will make it to 50 degrees. Some of the hills in the northern part of the county may not get much beyond 45 degrees.

The clouds will keep it from getting too cold overnight, though. Temperatures will slowly drop to the low 40s overnight.

Tuesday: Maybe some early clouds or showers. Otherwise, turning mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs near 60.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Thursday: Increasing clouds with rain showers in the afternoon. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Friday: Clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
