Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, October 20

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, October 20, 2021:

High pressure will continue to bring sunshine and warmer temperatures into the region today.

West winds will blow overtop of the high pressure, which is located well to our south. Wind speeds will be around 10 mph much of the day with top gusts reaching just over 20 mph.

Sunshine will be plentiful, though a few thin clouds will pass through from time to time. A batch of thicker clouds may also race across the region, filtering the sunshine for an hour or two late this afternoon.

There is a very small chance for a brief shower associated with these clouds. 

Skies will clear again for the evening before clouds thicken up again after midnight. A few more showers will be possible towards dawn, but again, most areas will stay dry.

High temperatures will be well above average, reaching a couple degrees over 65. Evening temperatures will be quick to drop into the low 50s. 

It may reach the upper 40s for a couple hours after midnight before temperatures climb back into the low 50s before dawn.

Thursday: A few early showers. Then some sun, followed by late showers and perhaps thunderstorms. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Friday: Cloudy with showers, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Saturday: Scattered showers. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Sunday: Cloudy with rain possible. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.
