Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, October 24, 2021:

The weather today will be a bit less dreary than yesterday, though it will end with more rain.

Sunshine will mix with clouds through the morning and may even be abundant at times. During the afternoon, the clouds will increase and should overtake the area before dinnertime.

A few stray showers may be possible in the afternoon, but most of the rain will hold off until after sunset. Steady rain is likely during the evening and into the overnight hours. 

Rainfall amounts overnight should be around a half inch but could be locally higher.

Winds will be from the south and southwest at 5-10 mph. The afternoon will have stronger winds than the morning. Top gusts will still only be around 20 mph.

Temperatures will warm quickly this morning with the sunshine and southwest winds. Still, highs will only make it into the mid 50s with a few low 50s in the northern hills.

Nighttime temperatures will be steady in the mid 40s with the clouds and rain.

Thursday: Rather sunny. Some thin clouds late. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
