Press release from by Cortland County Clerk of the Legislature Savannah Hempstead.

Cortland County would like to introduce Melissa Potter, the new Mobility Manager for Cortland County located within the Cortland County Health Department working collaboratively with the County Planning Department and First Transit.

Melissa will continue to address the transportation needs of all county residents, especially among individuals with disabilities, older adults and persons with limited incomes.

“I am very grateful and excited to take on this new position for Cortland County,” said Potter. “My goal for the program is to improve and expand our county transportation system that ensures quality public transportation services for our community.”

Cortland County would also like to acknowledge our deepest appreciation to Seven Valleys Health Coalition for establishing a solid foundation in Mobility Management for the past 10 years as well as their partnership to ensure a successful transition of this program to the Health Department. They continue to offer subsidized transportation to low-income county residents through both their Transportation to Employment Program for workers who find transportation a barrier to find or maintain employment and the Supports for Health program that provides short-term, non-emergency transportation and many other services to support health.

Cortland County looks forward to building on that foundation to improve the transportation services within the county with Melissa Potter as our new Mobility Manager, as well as Trisha Jesset, in her new role as Planning Director and Ryan Reynolds, in his new role as General Manager at Cortland Transit.

Interim Public Health Director Lisa Perfetti says, “Melissa brings a wealth of public health experience to her new role as Mobility Manager. She is a strong advocate with proven ability to effectively collaborate with our community partners as we work together to continue to address the transportation needs in Cortland County. We are excited to welcome her to our Health Department team.”
