Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, October 27

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, October 27, 2021:

Low pressure will move out over the northern Atlantic Ocean, away from our area, giving us a chance to dry out.

Early clouds will burn off by mid-morning as high pressure brings dry air into the region. The rest of the day should be sunny, though there may be some thin clouds to filter the sunshine from time to time.

No rain is expected outside of perhaps a little drizzle during the early morning hours.

Winds will be from the northwest at around 10 mph between the departing low and inbound high. Top gusts will come in at 20-25 mph.

Temperatures will be seasonable with highs topping out in the mid 50s this afternoon. Clear skies and dropping wind speeds will then allow the temperature to fall quickly this evening.

By midnight, temperatures will be around 40 and overnight lows will be into the mid 30s. Some patchy frost may develop in isolated colder pockets.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Thursday: Rather sunny. Some thin clouds late. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 60.

Friday: Cloudy with showers, especially in the afternoon. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Saturday: Cloudy with scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with morning showers. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
