Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, November 2

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, November 2, 2021:

No major weather systems will be in the area today, but Lake Erie will contribute a little unsettled weather.

A few lake effect showers from Lake Erie may make it this far east today. It will not rain much, but a few brief showers will be possible at any time. Some graupel or snow may mix in with the showers, too.

Otherwise, the sun will poke in and out of clouds. The clouds may become thicker for a time this afternoon, mostly keeping the sunshine at bay.

The evening will clear out initially, but some lake effect off Lake Ontario will be possible by the predawn hours. Again, some of this could fall as snow.

Winds will be from the west-southwest at up to 10 mph. Top gusts will come in around 25 mph. 

Afternoon highs will reach the mid 40s. The evening will bring a quick drop to the mid 30s and overnight lows will end up below freezing at around 30 degrees.

Wednesday: Clouds, a little sun, and maybe a few showers and wet snowflakes. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Friday: More sun than clouds. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
