Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, November 9, 2021:

A weak weather system will make its way toward our region today and will bring some showers tonight.

Skies will be rather cloudy today, though some breaks of sun and possible through the morning and into the early afternoon. The clouds will thicken further in the afternoon and skies should become overcast.

Rain will hold off until the evening hours. Once the rain arrives, it may be steady for several hours. Rain rates will remain low, though, so the amount of rain that falls should be light. The rain should taper off and end well before dawn on Wednesday.

Winds are starting the day from the southwest but will turn to the west, then northwest by midday. Wind speeds will only be around 5 mph. By the late afternoon, the wind will become nearly calm.

The clouds will keep it a bit cooler than yesterday, but temperatures will still be above average. Look for afternoon highs in the mid 50s. Nighttime temperatures will mostly hover in the mid 40s.

Saturday: Cloudy with rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
