Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, November 14

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, November 14, 2021:

Unsettled weather will continue as another small weather system swings into the region as it rotates around a large low pressure system to our north.

Winds have shifted to the southwest out ahead of this system, removing any lake effect from the area. As such, the morning should be dry with some breaks of sun poking between the clouds.

The clouds will thicken this afternoon and precipitation will move in shortly before sunset. A little rain may fall at first, but most of what falls will be snow.

Snow will continue into the evening before it tapers off to scattered flurries. Many areas will see a coating of accumulation, and some hilltops could see an inch or two.

Winds will remain from the south and southwest at around 7 mph. Top gusts will be around 20 mph.

Temperatures will top out in the low 40s early this afternoon. As the precipitation moves in, temperatures will drop back into the 30s. Mid and low 30s are expected tonight both during the evening and overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Monday: Cloudy with scattered showers and flurries. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Tuesday: Clouds and some sun. A few flurries, especially early on. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe some filtered sunshine. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
