Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, November 27, 2021:

Lake effect will taper off today and much of the day will be dry.

Skies will be cloudy, but some breaks of sun will be possible from time to time. 

A few snow showers are expected but should not last long or put down much accumulation. The snow showers will be in very narrow bands, so travelers will not encounter any long durations of snow.

It will be blustery again with northwest winds around 15 mph this morning. Top gusts during the morning will be just over 30 mph.

The wind will weaken this afternoon and eventually become more westerly toward sunset. Winds will continue to weaken and shift this evening, ending up from the south-southwest at under 5 mph by midnight.

Temperatures will be cold today with highs not escaping the upper 20s. Evening temperatures will quickly fall to the low 20s and some teens may be possible in the hills to the north.

After midnight, though, as the south winds kick in, temperatures will climb back to the mid 20s.

Tuesday: A mix of sun and clouds. Maybe a stray flurry. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe a rain shower or flurry. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs near 40.
