Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, December 1, 2021:

Our region will be between weather systems today resulting cloudy skies but mostly dry conditions.

A few stray flurries will be possible early on this morning. By the latter half of the morning, these should move north and dissipate.

Clouds will remain thick with few if any breaks of sunshine.

Winds will be from the southwest much of the day, coming in at 5-10 mph. Some turns to a more westerly direction are possible at times before turning to the south by the time the sun sets.

South winds will continue to blow at 5-10 mph through the night, gradually shifting from the low end of that range to the high end by the predawn hours.

Daytime temperatures will work their way into the mid 30s. Shortly after sunset, the temperature will fall back to near 30. From there, it will slowly rise overnight and especially after midnight, ending up in the upper 30s by dawn Thursday.

A stray shower cannot be ruled out well after midnight either as the next system approaches.
