The McGraw JV & Varsity Volleyball teams rang bells for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign on Tuesday (November 30th) to raise money for people in need.
The McGraw volleyball teams gathered outside of the Walmart located on 819 Bennie Rd, greeting people and getting in the holiday spirit by singing Christmas carols.
According to McGraw Varsity Volleyball Coach Jessyca Doran, the coaches had the players do this volunteer work to teach them how to give back to the community.
“Being a coach is also about teaching the youth life skills and helping them develop into successful members of the community, so we thought this would be a great opportunity,” stated Coach Doran.
According to the Salvation Army Red Kettle volunteer website, local Salvation Army units raise funds to help and support people in the community that are recovering from different types of personal disasters.
“We were very proud of how wonderful the girls were with giving back,” said Coach Doran. “It was a great experience.”
