Cortland County COVID-19 Wrap-Up for Tuesday, Dec. 7

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 3 to Monday, Dec. 6. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department.

On Monday, Dec. 6, the county reported 186 active positive cases, eight hospitalizations, but no new deaths. Since Friday, Dec. 3, there have been 89 new positive cases (60% increase in that span) and four new hospitalizations.

As of Dec. 6, there have been 7,084 total positive cases, 6,835 recovered cases, 408 individuals currently being monitored, 351 total hospitalizations and 87 deaths in the county.

Active positive cases between Nov. 30 and Dec. 6 have gone and fluctuated from 131 to 186. Hospitalizations have risen from seven to eight since Nov. 30.

According to the county health department’s weekly COVID-19 update between Nov. 29 to Dec. 5, there have been 193 positive cases, seven hospitalizations, but no deaths. Of the 159 positive cases in quarantine as of 8 a.m. on Dec. 6, 106 of them are unvaccinated and 53 of them are fully vaccinated.

The percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 62.5%, an .3% increase from the week of Nov. 22-28.
