Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, December 14

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, December 14, 2021:

Another quiet day is ahead though some changes will start to show up in the weather pattern.

The biggest of these changes will be a gradual increase in thin clouds. At first, these should have little impact on the sunshine through the morning. By the afternoon, though, the sunshine will become increasingly filtered.

No rain or snow will fall from any of these clouds, though.

Winds will also change direction today and will primarily come from the north. Wind speeds will be this morning at just over 5 mph while afternoon winds will be just under 5 mph. Peak gusts will come in around 20 mph.

Temperatures will remain above average but will be cooler than yesterday. Look for afternoon highs just above 40 degrees.

Tonight, the clouds will remain in place and will become a blanket of thin overcast. Evening temperatures will quickly fall to the upper 20s and will then remain there overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Wednesday: Increasingly cloudy and a few late showers. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Thursday: A few scattered afternoon showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Friday: Early sun. Increasing afternoon clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: Mixed precipitation possible. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
