Results from CECSD, HCSD community votes

Results are in from community votes that involved the Cortland Enlarged City School District (CECSD) and Homer Central School District (HCSD).

For CECSD, 269 community members voted NO and 228 of them voted yes on the pending sale and offer put in for the former Virgil Elementary School building.

For HCSD, voters approved the $24 million capital investment project proposal by a 257-18 margin. With the proposal approved, the project will get underway in 2022.

Votes for CECSD will be made official at the Board of Education (BOE) meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 6:30 p.m. Votes for HCSD’s project will become official at the BOE on Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m.
