Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, December 21, 2021:

An early morning cold front is moving through the area. 

This front will keep skies cloudy through the morning. Just a few stray flurries are expected with little to no accumulation.

Skies will brighten for a time during the early to mid afternoon. However, thin clouds may also move in from the south, so the day could end with filtered sunshine.

Any clouds will move back out this evening, leaving clear skies for most of the night. A few more clouds may work back in before sunrise, though.

Winds will take a trip fully around the compass today. After starting from the southwest, they will turn to the west, then north by noontime. The wind will continue to rotate clockwise from there, ending up in the southeast by evening and finally back from the south overnight.

Most of the day will have wind speeds near or under 5 mph. Early this morning, winds will 5-10 mph, and tonight wind speeds will increase to 10 mph.

High temperatures will reach the mid 30s this afternoon. Mid 20s will take over this evening and remain in place through the night.

Saturday: A few rain or snow showers, especially early. Breezy. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
