Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, December 29, 2021:

Another weather system has come and gone overnight. In its wake, today will be cloudy but quiet.

Some areas of fog and drizzle will be possible through the first half of this morning, particularly over higher elevations. This should lift by the latter morning, but clouds will remain locked in.

Tonight, some of the fog and drizzle may settle back into the hills. No other precipitation is expected during the daytime or nighttime hours.

Winds will be light today with speeds near or under 5 mph. Wind directions will start from the southeast, but will gradually turn to the south, then southwest by the evening.

Afternoon temperatures will push into the mid and perhaps upper 30s. 

Nighttime temperatures will slowly retreat to the low 30s during the middle of the night, only to come back into the mid 30s before sunrise.

Thursday: Cloudy. Scattered showers late. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Friday: Clouds and some sun. Perhaps a spit of rain. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: Cloudy with rain, especially early. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Sunday: A few early rain showers turning to flurries. Breezy with falling temperatures. Morning temperatures in the upper 30s. Afternoon temperatures in the mid 20s.
