Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from Wednesday, Dec. 29 to Friday, Dec. 31. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department.
On Friday, Dec. 31, the county reported 363 active positive cases, 764 individuals being monitored, 10 current hospitalizations, and one death. Since Wednesday, Dec. 29, there have been 260 new positive cases (93% increase in that span) and 34 new hospitalizations.
The percentage of positive tests on a daily basis is 18.5%, with a 7-day average of 10.1%.
As of Dec. 31, there have been 8,240 total positive cases, 403 compiled hospitalizations and 90 deaths in the county.
Up to Dec. 31, 27,027 residents (56.8%) in Cortland County are fully vaccinated, with 28,907 residents receiving at least one dose. Of the county’s population that is 12 years-or-older, 63.3% of them are fully vaccinated. Between 5-to-11 year olds, 17.6% of them have received both of their doses.
