Cortland County COVID-19 Wrap-Up for Tuesday, Jan. 25

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from the week of Jan. 17-23 to Monday, Jan. 24. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department.

On Monday, Jan. 24, the county reported 180 active positive cases, 16 hospitalizations, but no deaths. Since Jan. 14, there have been 180 new positive cases and five new hospitalizations.

As of Jan. 24, there have been 11,297 total positive cases, 450 total hospitalizations and 95 deaths in the county. According to the county, the daily and 7-day average of positive tests amongst county residents is 12% and 15.5%, respectively.

Active positive cases between Jan. 17-24 have gone and fluctuated from over 400 to 180. Hospitalizations have consistently been in the double digits since Jan. 17.

According to the county health department’s COVID-19 update for the week of Jan. 17-23, there were 756 positive cases, 15 hospitalizations and five deaths.

Of the 180 active cases as of 8 a.m. on Jan. 24, 97 of them self-reported that they are fully vaccinated. According to the county health department, county residents “who do not self-report they are vaccinated may be unvaccinated, chose not to provide vaccination status, or vaccination status was not collected during case investigation.”

As of Jan. 24, the percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 57.8%, with 64.1% of residents that are 12 years-or-older reported as fully vaccinated. The percentage of county residents between the ages of 5-and-11 that is fully vaccinated is 21.2%. Additional county numbers show that 50.5% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
