Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, February 8

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, February 8, 2022:

A weak cold front will swing through the area this morning, leading to some occasional snow showers.

The snow that falls today will be on and off and mainly light in nature. Any bursts of snow will be short lived and have minimal impact. Accumulations will be limited to a coating and travel should not be affected.

Winds will start the day lightly from the west. By the midday, the front will move through, and winds will turn to the northwest and increase. Wind speeds in the afternoon will be around 10 mph with gusts near 20 mph.

Temperatures will rise to an early afternoon high around 30 degrees. Before the sun sets, temperatures will have retreated into the 20s once again. 

It will be a quick drop into the 10s this evening as skies clear. Northwest winds early on will turn to the south after midnight.

This wind shift should halt the falling temperatures in the low 10s.

Wednesday: Early sun giving way to clouds. Morning lows in the low 10s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. A few snow showers. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Saturday: Morning rain showers turning to flurries. Morning temperatures near 40. Afternoon temperatures falling through the 20s.
